I don’t always have someone to take a photo of me. So, usually I take all the photos myself. I don’t mind it at all, infact, I like to take self-portraits (also known as selfie), because I know all the good angles from where I can present myself in the best way.
Ending up taking selfies usually requires me to be in some place where I think someone would look good there. When I’m taking a photo of me in it, I don’t focus on my appearance (which I used to do), rather on the whole look of the image.
Taking time, trying different angles, thinking of new poses/places, that’s what I usually go through until I’m satisfied with my work. I’m going to give you an example with this photo ↓
This is one of the photos I took when I was spending Christmas at my family friend’s cottage.
I was looking for a good spot to shoot when I stumbled across this forest, and boy oh boy was it magical! White snow everywhere, walking alone, listening to some good music and just being by myself.
Yes, I took this photo by myself. I placed my tripod on a branch, put timer on and just started walking. This photo gives me a little of a Narnia vibe 👌🏻 This was actually the time I broke my tripod… (It was a mini-tripod with bending legs) Recently I bought a new one, but haven’t really been using it yet.
I think it’s good to practice on yourself when you’re trying to learn portrait photography or taking photos of people. I didn’t edit this photo much, just brought down blue colours a bit and added red/orange hue on trees. Tell me what you think of this! 😊
I have been away from blogging for quite a while and it’s because I’m very tired nowadays 😴 I’ll try to kick off my laziness and get active again, hope you all will stick around! 🙏🏻
